Safety Tips
(Last Updated: April 2024)
At FT, we prioritize your safety and well-being. Whether you're creating an event or planning to attend one, it's important to follow safety guidelines to ensure a positive and secure experience for everyone involved. Here are some safety tips and best practices we recommend:
Creating Events
- Choose Public Venues: When organizing an event, opt for public and well-known locations. This ensures the safety and comfort of all attendees. Avoid hosting events at private residences, as this can compromise personal security.
- Be Clear and Detailed: Provide clear, accurate descriptions of your event. This includes the nature of the event, the expected conduct, and any necessary items attendees should bring. Setting clear expectations helps create a safer environment for everyone.
- Privacy Settings: Utilize any available privacy settings when creating your event. If your event is meant for a specific group of people, ensure it's not publicly visible to all app users. When setting an event to public this allows everyone on FT to see the location, if this is not the intended outcome try setting the event to select#, first# or 1on1.
Verification and Age Requirement
- Inform Someone: Always let a friend or family member know about the event you plan to attend, including where and when it will take place. Sharing your plans increases your safety and ensures someone knows of your whereabouts.
- Stay in Public Spaces: Stick to public and well-lit areas during the event, especially if you're meeting someone for the first time. Avoid going to secluded places with people you've just met.
- Share Your Location: Consider sharing your live location with a trusted friend or family member using a location-sharing app. This step provides an extra layer of security, allowing someone you trust to keep an eye on your location during the event.
- Trust Your Instincts: If something doesn't feel right about the event or the people you meet, trust your instincts and leave. Your safety is more important than staying at an event that makes you uncomfortable.
- Emergency Contact: Always have your phone charged and accessible, and know the local emergency contact numbers in case you need to call for help.
General Safety
- Personal Information: Be cautious about sharing personal information with people you meet through the app. This includes your home address, financial details, or sensitive personal data.
- Transportation: Plan your transportation ahead of time. It's safer to use your own vehicle or public transportation rather than relying on someone you've just met. Ensure your transportation method allows you to leave the event at your discretion.
- Respect Boundaries: Respect the boundaries of others, and communicate your own. Consent is paramount in all interactions.
Bullying and Stalking
If you encounter any safety issues or concerns during an event, please don't hesitate to report them to us through the app's reporting features or simply email us directly at Support@flockt.app. Our team is committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all users.
